Eden Hotel Collection, who are quickly becoming known as one of the leading luxury hotel operators in the UK, have added a seventh property and second spa to their carefully chosen portfolio of classic country house hotels.

The Mount Somerset Hotel & Spa, bought out of the administration of the von Essen Hotels portfolio, will join Michelin starred Mallory Court in Leamington Spa, Buckland Tout-Saints in Devon, The Kings Hotel in Chipping Campden, The Arden Hotel in Stratford-upon-Avon, Brockencote Hall Hotel in Worcestershire and the recently acquired Greenway Hotel & Spa in Cheltenham.

The Mount Somerset Hotel and Spa is a stunning Georgian country house hotel, set in four acres of beautiful grounds. This grand dame of a building sits cradled in between the Quantock and Blackdown Hills, affording guests some of the best views in Somerset. The Mount Somerset has all the characteristics of a quintessential English Georgian mansion. The hotel already holds three AA Stars and two AA Rosettes, accolades that are well know to the rest of the Eden hotels who all hold similarly coveted awards for their high standards of dining and hospitality.

The group’s Managing Director Mark Chambers commented,

‘We are delighted to be adding The Mount Somerset Hotel & Spa to Eden Hotel Collection. We believe it is a beautiful addition to our portfolio of luxury hotels and reflects the standard of our exclusive group.

We are excited to be adding our second spa property to the Eden Hotel Collection, which has added a different dynamic to our company. We are excited to be taking The Mount Somerset back into private ownership, where it will get the care and attention needed to return it to its former glory’.

Mr Chambers will have the support of Michelin starred Chef Simon Haigh, Director of Food and Beverage for Eden Hotel Collection, in making sure that The Mount Somerset Hotel & Spa sets a new standard of culinary excellence for the South West.
