I read a very worrying story today about a dieting regime that brides are favouring mainly in the USA. It involves feeding a drip through the nose to the stomach with just 800 calories of protein per day delivered. It has to be inserted by doctors and worn for 10 days...... Who would do that?

Bad dieting can cause fatigue, bad breath, possible kidney damage and poor skin condition. Be realistic about your goals and protect your body from damage that may take months after the wedding to repair.

That said, it's natural to want to trim down for a wedding - not just the bride but their mums and aunts and even Grandmom. Nothing wrong with that, but it is crazy to crash diet. Take it steady, join a club and get some professional help to guide you through to a great shape and fitness for your wedding day. In fact, take some of your girlfriends along and your mum and make a weekly event of it that you can all share in. It'll be much more fun than sitting at home staring at the fridge, feeling starved and hungry and disappointed in your body and your fitness levels.
