Whatever sort of stag party the groom chooses, it makes sense for it to be held at least a week before the wedding day.

Not all grooms choose the girly, boozy type stag party, though pubs, clubs and bar-crawling or beer festival weekends in exotic European cities like Prague are popular. Other popular types of event include action weekends (golf, rafting, paragliding, quad biking, driving F1 cars, paint-balling, climbing, etc), attendance at a major sporting event such as the Grand National or a footie match, or a foreign trip that can embrace any or all of the above.

It’s the best-man’s job to organise the stag party, whether he’s discussed it with the groom and it’s a plan, or whether it’s going to be a surprise. All those participating will need to know exactly what costs are involved and who’s paying. Usually, all participants pay their own way.
